Google must ensure it provides a generous package if there are redundancies in Ireland.
That's the call from Social Democrats' Co-Leader Catherine Murphy, over news the tech company's cutting 12 thousand jobs globally.
Business Minister Simon Coveney is to meet the company's bosses next week to find out what that means for Irish workers.
Deputy Murphy says it's unsettling for the Irish workforce:
"I think there isn't a threat to the facility here in Ireland. We're looking at a reduction in staff, but we won't know for some time. If it impacts, and if it does, to what extent it impacts. And, as I say that will play out over time".
