Assistant Garda Commissioner, Paula Hilman describes what Gardaí will be looking out for at checkpoints:
"We'll be checking people for drink or drug driving. But you'll see other checkpoints. We'll have Garda members, Roads Policing members out engaging with the public. Because equally our message is about is working with Road Safety Authority to educate, and ask people to work with us, but then we move into enforcement when that is required as well".
