More than half of Irish grocery shoppers are shopping in multiple supermarkets to get the best deals.
Just under half are sticking to a shopping list before they travel to buy their weekly groceries.
The findings are from Bord Bia's Inflationary Impact Study for 2023.
Grace Binchy, Marketing Insight Specialist at Bord Bia, says the types of foods consumers are investing in has changed:
"We saw products that are perceived as more versatile, or maybe have a longer shelf life, were winning more with consumers. So while people are buying less of everything, the products that are perceived, as we say, frozen foods are doing better, whereas when it comes to bakery items, probably been a little bit more challenged".
