More price reductions are on the way for consumers.
Tesco, Aldi and Lidl are dropping the price of their own-brand bread from today.
The retailers will reduce the price of their breads by 10 cent.
Labour TD Ged Nash says the decreases won't go far enough to help people with the cost-of-living crisis:
"It's the Government's own idea that they would hold a supermarket summit to drive down the very high cost of groceries in this country that are way ahead of the rate of inflation and are certainly way ahead of the input costs that are coming down all of the time. We know that the annual shopping basket in Ireland this year was going to cost €1200 more than it did this time last year."
