The Tánaiste is travelling to Lebanon today to meet with the colleagues of Private Seán Rooney.
23-year-old Private Rooney, who was killed before Christmas, was part of the 121st UNIFIL Infantry Battalion.
Michael Martin will convey his sympathies, and those of the Government, to members of the unit on their loss.
He will also meet Lebanese officials and will reiterate that those responsible for Private Rooney's death must be "brought to justice."
