The Minister for Expenditure says the government is actively considering further relief measures for energy costs.
Michael McGrath says they are really conscious that the developments in Ukraine have compounded an already very difficult situation.
Minister McGrath says the government is examining what options are available to them.
"We are expecting a paper from the European Commission imminently and that will set out what options may be available for member states, so it is under active consideration and I hope that we can come to a view on that very shortly.
"We do recognise that people are suffering real pain financially at the moment and it was difficult in the lead up to the Ukrainian invasion but unfortunately it is now much worse and much more acute."
