Met Éireann says cloud cover in skies will continue for the next few days.
Most of the country endured plenty of wet and cloudy weather over the Bank Holiday weekend.
However, temperatures will rise to the mid and late teens as the week progresses.
Mark Bowe, Meteorologist with Met Éireann, says the cloud is here to stay for a while yet.
"Fairly cloudy weekend and that was the case across the entire country. And there's actually a an area of high pressure just over the Azores. And that's helping to funnel in plenty of warm moist air over the country. So that's why it's been so cloudy and for the past couple of days, and that's going to continue as we go into next week as well."
