There's a warning medicine shortages could be a greater problem than the latest figures show.
An index from Azure shows there are 241 medicines out of stock, with shortages in treatment of allergic eye conditions, including hayfever.
There are also issues with antibiotics.
Pharmacist Sheena Mitchell says there are some medicines that are in short supply.
"On the ground in community pharmacies I can assure that the situation is far more dire.
"We have two main wholesalers, and there is a list of medications on allocation - which basically means that there isn't sufficient supply of them to meet full demand, so they're not completely unavailable but we can't get the quantities we need on a monthly basis.
"There's actually over 350 medicines on allocation."
