It's claimed the lifting of the eviction ban could lead to thousands of families ending up on the streets.
Opponents have branded the move a "a societal disaster", with a march on the Dáil planned for this evening.
Organiser Ruth Coppinger says the aim of the protest is to highlight the housing emergency, which she says will hit women and children worst, and other key issues affecting women.
"We would appeal to people to turn out and march with us, to defend abortion rights internationally, to fight for real action on gender based violence.
"Also, to protest the despicable decision to lift the eviction ban during a housing ban, which can only mean one thing - that thousands of families will be on the streets because there is no emergency accommodation."
