The Department of Foreign Affairs has clarified that a man, who was onboard a flight that crashed in Nepal, is a UK citizen.
It had been thought Ruan Calum Crighton was Irish... but it’s been confirmed the Foreign Office in Britain is providing consular support.
Investigations are continuing into how the plane came down in clear blue skies around 2km from the runway.
72 people were on board - at least 69 have been confirmed dead so far and no survivors are expected.
Retired Air Corps Lieutenant Colonel Kevin Byrne says it’s a mystery:
"Blue skies no cloud. I thought it might have been a wind or weather affected flights but it wasn't. The aircraft was on final approach. I believe the accident happened within two kilometres of the runway, which meant the pilots and the crew should have looked out and seen the runway in those circumstances."
