A man is in a serious condition in hospital after he was attacked by a number of men in Temple Bar in Dublin city centre last night.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the assault, which occurred on Fownes Street Lower just before 10pm.
It's believed to have begun in a fast food outlet in Temple Bar Square before moving to the Fownes Street area.
A man aged in his forties was treated at the scene by ambulance personnel before being taken to St James’ Hospital.
His injuries are believed to be serious but non-life threatening.
Gardaí at Pearse Street are asking for anyone who has any information or footage of this incident to come forward.
