A man has been detained under the Mental Health Act after a woman's body was found in Dublin this morning.
Gardaí are not looking for anyone else in connection with her death.
Gardaí remain here at the scene after the body of a woman was discovered at an apartment in Royal Canal Park in Ashtown.
The woman, who is aged in her 40s, was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead at around 10 o clock this morning.
It’s understood that the woman died violently.

Gardaí say they have detained a man under the mental act and are not looking for anyone else.
The scene has been preserved for a forensic examination and the Office of the State Pathologist has been notified.
