A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Annie McCarrick.
The American went missing from her home in Sandymount in Dublin in March of 1993.
Gardaí say a man in his 60's was detained on suspicion of her murder this morning.
A search operation is also underway at a house in the Clondalkin area of Dublin and the home and garden will be the subject of both technical and forensic examinations.
The residents currently living at the address are not connected in any way to Annie McCarrick's murder, according to Gardaí.
