A man in his 30s has been hospitalised, following an alleged assault at a football match in Dublin yesterday.
The incident happened in Clonshaugh Park, during a game between Celtic United and St. Brendan's United.
Gardaí have confirmed enquiries are ongoing, with no arrests made.
Football reporter, David Sneyd says Celtic United has called it a dark day:
"It seems to be the case that people involved are in a state of shock. It was described by the club involved as "dark day", and luckily the player in question, is alive in hospital - just still in shock".
