Leo Varadkar holds his final engagement as Taoiseach today.

He'll offer his official resignation to the President this evening, before that he'll lead the Irish delegation at the North South Ministerial Council in Armagh.

This meeting of the North South Ministerial Council will be the first time the government meets with the Northern Ireland Executive since the restoration of Stormont in February

Trade and business issues and investment in areas of mutual interest are among the topics due to be discussed.

It will be the last engagement of Leo Varadkar, as it’s expected he will travel to Aras an Uachtaran this evening to resign as Taoiseach.

It will pave the way for new Fine Gael leader Simon Harris to be elected Taoiseach when the Dail resumes tomorrow.
