Leesiders Are Being Warned To Expect Heavy Rainfall And Even Snow In Parts Of Cork

Harsh weather conditions are expected over the next 24 hours

Met Eireann has a status yellow rainfall warning in place for Cork and 18 counties from 8 o'clock tonight that could bring flooding.

Up to 25 millimetres of rain is expected to fall, with areas along the River Shannon preparing for rising water levels.

Farmland lying by the river in Athlone and Carrick-on-Shannon is already under water.
