The leader of the Green Party is dismissing suggestions his party will be wiped out at the next General Election.
Eamon Ryan says green issues are to the fore more than ever and the public are aware that climate change is really happening.
He says the Green agenda is now playing a prominent role in environmental policy in numerous Governments across Europe.
Minister Ryan says he's confident his party will command ten per cent of the vote at the next election:
"I think Irish people are just as green as as they are in Austria or in Belgium or anywhere else. We should be 1-in-10. But I think if we go to the people in the next election and ask this question, "Would you be prepared to cast this vote, as 1-in-10 to say that we want to secure the future for our children?" I think I'd be confident we could do that".
