The Justice Minister has said G-SOC will face an independent review after one of their officers attended a party for Gerry Hutch.
The officer has been interviewed by Gardaí and confirmed he attended a party for 'The Monk', following his acquittal at the Special Criminal Court for the murder of David Byrne at the Regency Hotel.
The Garda Representative Association says the incident has created a crisis of confidence in the Garda watchdog.
