The ISPCC says it's seeing the impact pornography is having on children that are exposed to it.
It comes as a report in the UK found that sexual violence - commonly seen in explicit videos - was found in half of police interviews of child-on-child sex abuse cases.
More than a third of these cases involved violence such as strangulation, gagging and slapping.
Head of Policy and Public Affairs with the ISPCC, Fiona Jennings, says the topic needs to be researched and discussed more openly.
"We really need to start talking intently about child sexual abuse in all its presentations.
"That somewhat still remains a taboo somewhat in Ireland today.
"We have moved on in some extent to be able to move on and address historical child sexual abuse, however it's important that we remain alert to the fact that child sexual abuse continues to be an issue today."
