The Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children is calling on individuals, groups and businesses in Cork City and County to have breakfast to raise funds for the charity.

Childline Breakfast is an annual fundraising event for the service.

This year, the Childline Breakfast Week will run from October 18th to 25th.

Participants can choose to host a breakfast during that week, or at an alternative time if it suits them better.

The charity says children and young people who contact Childline may feel lonely, hurt, upset or isolated - or they may simply want a listening ear.

Childline operates for all children and young people in Cork and across Ireland 24-hours-a-day, every day, but relies heavily on public and corporate support.
