Irish people are making contactless payments amounting to 52 million euro a day.
Figures from the Banking and Payments Federation Ireland show that in the third quarter of the year contactless transactions hit almost €4.8 billion.
However cheques are rapidly becoming a thing of the past, with the number of cheque payments now at its lowest ever level.
