The government is under fire for not going far enough in banning vapes for under 18's.
New laws will be in force from July outlawing the sale of e-cigarettes to children and restricting the advertising of them on public transport and near schools.
However the Irish Heart Foundation says its not enough to prevent a new generation of young people from nicotine addiction.
Spokesperson Chris Macey says the products are purposely designed to appeal to young people, and that needs to be stopped.
"We need a ban on e-cigarette flavours like gummy bear, or chocolate milkshake, they are flavours that are clearly targeting children.
"We need a ban on bright and attractive packaging that make e-cigarettes look like sweets.
"We need to protect children from the promotion of e-cigarettes, particularly by influencers on social media."
