Half of the country's eligible hospitals - along with many GP practices - still don't provide abortion services.

The Irish Family Planning Association's also highlighting many women continue to travel to the UK, due to a 12 week limit in accessing terminations here.

Today marks the 3rd anniversary of the eighth amendment referendum result, which paved the way for legal abortions in Ireland.

However Niall Behan from the I-F-P-A says "serious flaws" in the law are undermining abortion services.

"We're calling for the restrictive aspects of the current law to be reviewed and amended, in particular looking at some of the continued criminalisation  of anyone who assists a woman to end a pregnancy outside of the current legislation.

"I think that would really do justice to the spirit of the public vote from three years ago."
