Irish economy grows by 1.8%

The economy grew by 1.8% in the second quarter of the year.

When multinationals are excluded, Gross National Product increased by 2.1%.

Personal spending on goods and services went up by 1.8%.

Exports grew by 3% in the three months to June , while imports went up by 5.5%.

According to the CSO, results for the first half of the year when compared to the same period last year, show GDP increased by 11%.
