Gardaí and forensics remain at the scene of a body discovered in a house in Co Mayo last night.
A man is still being detained at Castlebar Garda Station on suspicion of murder.
The Garda Technical Bureau and State Pathologist are still at the scene of this house on Pheasanthill in Castlebar.
Last night Gardaí and Emergency Services were alerted to the house through reports of a fire.
The body of a man was discovered inside the residence, with some reports suggesting he may have suffered gunshot wounds.
A man has since been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently detained in Castlebar Garda Station.
Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
