Gardaí are investigating after a teenage girl was the victim of a serious sexual assault in Co Kerry.
The incident happened in a secluded area of Tralee Town Park in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
It's hoped CCTV cameras located around the park may have captured the attacker.
Ralph Riegel is the southern correspondent with the Irish Independent:
"17 year old, year old girl was assaulted. Now we understand that that is a very serious sexual assault, and it occurred just at the peak of the celebrations of the Rose of Tralee festival, there would have been quite a sizable amount of people on the streets, there was street entertainment. It appears that this girl was walking through the park on her way home. When she was confronted and attacked."
