Insurers have warned the government premiums will continue to rise due to climate change.
They say commercial property insurance will continue to increase, if the model for assessing flood risk is not changed.
According to the Irish Examiner, the concerns were highlighted at a meeting with Junior Minister with responsibility for Insurance, Jennifer Carroll MacNeill.
The meeting heard how "extreme weather events" are impacting 'the ability of insurers to write property insurance".
