She was giving evidence at the trial of Nadine’s ex-boyfriend, Daniel Murtagh, of Melrose Grove, Bawnogue, Clondalkin, Dublin 22, who is accused of murdering her in December 2019.

Frank Greaney has this report for RedFM News.

Some listeners may find this distressing:

"A paramedic who treated Nadine Lott as she lay covered in blood on her kitchen floor in Arklow, Co Wicklow, told the jury it was one of the most horrendous scenes he has ever walked into.

Ian Clarke said it will probably haunt him for the rest of his career.

After stabilising her, his team took her to St Vincent’s Hospital in Dublin where ICU nurse Leah Grant said she had never seen anybody as badly injured as her.

She said she was completely unrecognisable.

Her colleague, Nurse Pamela O’Brien, tried to clean her up before her family came in to see her, but she said her efforts didn’t make much difference.

Earlier, the jury heard a witness told gardaí that Daniel Murtagh was 'like a wild animal' when she walked in on him crouched over Nadine as she lay unconscious on the floor of her apartment. She was the one who raised the alarm.

Mr Murtagh has pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of his ex-girlfriend, but denies her murder."
