The HSE is pledging €1.5 million to a new youth mental health fund.

It's going towards Rethink Ireland's HeadStart Fund for social innovations aimed at improving young people's mental health and wellbeing.

Organisations working with young people aged 15 to 24 can apply for grants from January.

Stephanie Walsh from Rethink Ireland says the dedicated fund is aimed at tackling Ireland's youth mental health crisis:

"We'll be offering cash grants and business support to initiative offering early interventions, wellbeing, resilience programs, and other mental health support, and we'll be specifically calling from solutions that target marginalized groups and those experiencing socio economic disadvantage.."
