The Housing Minister says the eviction ban will not be reintroduced.
Darragh O'Brien says ending the ban was a vital move to support tenants.
Opposition figures have said dropping the measure will lead to a rise in homelessness.
Minister O'Brien says supports are in place to protect renters:
"The solution to this is more permanent homes, and we have a good outlook into this year, we need to tenant them quicker, we need to get social houses with people in them tenanted quicker as well. We've more affordable homes and we've had in a generation as well."
