Anti-abortion protests will no longer be permitted outside hospitals and clinics who provide termination services.

It's after the Health Minister finalised plans for a bill which would see the establishment of 'safe access zones'.

Last year, protests took place at healthcare facilities in Cork, Donegal, Dublin, Galway, Kildare, Limerick, Roscommon, Tipperary, Waterford and Wicklow.

The Irish Examiner reports the legislation is expected to be signed into law by Christmas.
