The head of Uber Ireland says the ride-share service could help deal with taxi shortages here.
It comes as the company launches its taxi service in Limerick.
That makes it the second city in the country, where it operates, in addition to Dublin.
Drivers need to hold a taxi licence to work for ride-share services in Ireland.
