The head of Chernobyl Children International says the shelling of the Zaporizhzhia power plant in Ukraine has made nuclear power 'a weapon of war'.

Ukraine and Russia are both blaming each other for the shelling on Friday, which lead to one of the plant's reactors being shut down.

The UN's nuclear watchdog has responded with concern, saying there's a 'very real risk of a nuclear disaster'.

Adi Roche says it's like holding a loaded gun to the world:

"From the get go with this invasion in Ukraine, we have been saying from the moment the invading country came through Belarus into the Chernobyl exclusion zone, taking over the nuclear plant. We said that this has changed the nature of modern warfare, because until this point, in all the wars, nuclear facilities were off limits."
