Grocery inflation is slightly slowing but still remains at over 16 percent since February.

Figures from Kantar have analysed prices in supermarkets for the past three months.

The economy's overall inflation rate is at around 7 percent over the past year - however in supermarkets since February prices have gone up by 16.5 percent.

The rate is slightly down from last month - however it doesn't mean the prices are coming down - but rather the rate the prices are going up is slowing.

These figures from Kantar show shoppers seem to be returning to stores more often with people making on average seven extra trips over the last three months.

The cost of living seems to be biting consumers as sales of own-brand products have increase by 32 percent in the past year.
