The Government's being slammed for a lack of action on affordable childcare.
Labour Senator Marie Sherlock wants a 200 euro cap on childcare fees introduced in the budget to bring more women into the workplace.
She says the state must cut costs for parents:
"It's something that has been demanded by parents for so many years now - to have affordable child care in this country. And in this budget, Budget 2023, we need to see a dramatic cut to childcare fees. One the highest set of fees across the European Union".
