The government is proactively looking for more hotels around the country to provide accommodation for refugees and asylum-seekers.

64,000 Ukrainian refugees and people seeking international protection have arrived here this year.

The Department in charge of Immigration are today asking hotels, guesthouses and B&B's if they'll put forward their premises to provide accommodation for refugees and asylum seekers.

Currently one in seven hotels here are being used to provide accommodation for Ukrainian refugees and people seeking international protection.

The Government do say they are finding it incredibly difficult to find accommodation.

To keep up with the numbers coming into the country on a weekly basis, the Government would need to fill three one hundred and fifty bed hotels a week, just to accommodate asylum seekers.
