Gerry 'The Monk' Hutch has left Ireland for Spain.
The 60 year-old returned to Lanzarote on Sunday.
He had been spotted around Dublin after being found not guilty of murder in the Regency Hotel trial in April.
Crime Editor with the Irish Sun, Stephen Breen, says there is some surprise he returned to the island where he previously escaped an attempt on his life:
"He returned to Lanzarote, a place that's been well-known to him, but also it's a place where he survived an attempt from the Kinahan cartel to try kill him in December 15th. So there will be some surprise that he has returned to that location, but it's somewhere that he does know quite well and has a long standing association with".
