Schools are back this week and many will celebrate the occasion by posting snaps of their kids in their uniform on the likes of Facebook.
However, the Gardaí's Cyber Crime Bureau have issued guidance online to help parents and kids be "Cyber Smart".
Detective Sergeant Paul Johnstone is part of the bureau and says there are bad actors online who may misuse the images:
"They're not the only ones that are browsing and are interested in those images. There are exploiters online, who are looking for the same type of images and the kinds of stuff they look for are anything that will identify either the child location or something that gives them a link into the incident or into the child itself."
