The possibility of going on strike during the US president's trip to Ireland next week will be discussed by the Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors' today.
140 AGSI members are gathering in Galway for their annual conference.
The ongoing rostering dispute with Commissioner Drew Harris will take centre stage - with full strike action - or a 'blue flu' - during Joe Biden's visit not ruled out.
However, Deputy General Secretary of the AGSI, Ronan AGSI says it will be down to their members to decide:
The roster, issue that is the biggest issue in An Garda Siochana affecting our membership at the moment. And we are here today is to engage and listen to our members on what forms or industrial action they may wish to take. And we are here to listen to them so I won't pre-empt anything, we have to hear what our members have to say to us first."
