The Gardaí have had sustained success in tackling organised crime groups engaged in the drugs trade in the first six months of this year.
According to the Policing Authority's Performance Assessment report, there were no 'threat-to-life' incidents in the first half of 2022 in the Garda response to organised crime.
The report described this as an extraordinary marker of success, arising from the impact of Garda activity on communities.
It also said the collaboration with international partners to tackle organised crime groups represents a landmark success for the Garda Síochána.
