Gardaí in County Cavan are investigating after a memorial to Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe was vandalised in recent days.
The plaque was found destroyed in the former Garda's hometown of Kilnaleck.
The monument was erected to remember Detective Donohoe who was shot and killed outside the Lordship Credit Union in County Louth in 2013.
Officers investigating possible criminal damage to the plaque are urging anyone with information to contact Cavan Garda Station on 049 436 8800.
