Brexit, Covid, and global disruptions to supply chains have demonstrated the importance of logistics to a vibrant economy.
The first ever Logistics and Supply Chain Skills Week launches on Monday to showcase career paths in the sector.
Aidan Flynn, CEO of the Freight Transport Association Ireland says preparations for freight after Brexit have been amplified by global events:
"Every vibrant economy is reliant on a strong supply chain. The work that all of us in the freight distribution logistics sector have put into preparing for Brexit, has led us to the establishment of Logistics Supply Chain Skills Working Group. The importance of this working group is amplified because of the increased awareness of how important and essential everybody in the freight distribution logistics supply chain is to the Irish economy".
