Former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern says a response to DUP demands around the Northern Ireland Protocol needs to be found to restore the Stormont Executive.
After a week of talks in the North, there are renewed hopes a deal can be reached by April.
But Bertie Ahern believes first the EU needs to understand the DUP's demands:
"They totally object to an item coming from Manchester into Belfast being treated as if it's coming from one country to another. Because Northern Ireland today is part of the United Kingdom. And so if we were to say something was coming from Cork to Dublin, then we shouldn't have to be opened up to all the forms. That's the issue, and that's the issue that has to be resolved".
