The Finance Minster's described a video by Israel's Foreign Minister about Ireland's decision to recognise Palestine as 'distasteful'.

Israel Katz posted a video on X addressed to Taoiseach Simon Harris which shows violent scenes intercut with Irish dancing.

The short video is accompanied the message - “Ireland, if your goal was to reward terrorism by declaring support for a Palestinian state, you’ve achieved it”.

Speaking to RedFM news, Minister Michael McGrath gave this reaction to the video which also said "Hamas thanks" Simon Harris for his service:

"Particularly distasteful, I'm not going to say any more than that Israel is clearly very sore, over the decision of the Irish government to recognise the state of Palestine. We also recognise the State of Israel. We respect and recognise their right to exist, and we have been very clear, entirely condemning the terrorist attack that Hamas perpetrated on the seventh of October last year".
