Fianna Fail’s health spokesperson says people in his party need to be given time to read the programme for Government before they support it.

The process of selling the programme to members of Fine Gael, Fianna Fáil and the Greens will begin in earnest today.

Their parliamentary parties gave the go-ahead to the document last night, ahead of member votes over the next week and a half.

Stephen Donnelly says party members have a lot of questions.

"It's a very detailed document.

"We're nearly four and a half months since the general election, we're in the middle of the biggest economic and health crisis the country has ever faced, so there's a lot of detail in here.

"First of all people need to be given a bit of time.

"All of the parties need to talk to their members, listen to their members, be very respectful of their members and their councillors and other members all over the country, because people will have a lot of questions."
