Fáilte Ireland's welcoming new data showing a strong recovery of domestic tourism in 2022.
A total of 13.3 million domestic trips were taken.
This represents an increase of 14% on 2019, before the Covid pandemic.
The total spend for the period was €2.9billion, up 36% on 2019.
CEO Paul Kelly says the results are hugely positive for tourism and for our economy.
"When we look at domestic trips up about 14% compared to pre-pandemic levels, it's a real sign of how positive that the Irish tourism offering is for the Irish people.
"It's great to see that those really high satisfaction numbers that people had with their holidays during Covid is playing through in terms of repeat holidays, and people staying in Ireland and enjoying the Irish holiday offering, so we really welcome these numbers."
