Experts are recommending that paddling pools and dog-friendly ice creams could help keep your pets cool during the heatwave.
To avoid overheating, animal charities are advising owners to keep their canines out of the sun completely.
Dogs Trust vet, Rachel Groake, says hot cars aren't the only thing to avoid on a warm day:
"More than 10 times as many dogs need veterinary treatment for heat related illness following exercise, as for being overheated in cars. Even a short walk in hot weather can be too much".
