It says its average electricity and gas bills will go up by 15% from April 25th.
The company says wholesale energy prices have "risen substantially" over recent months.
David Kerr is founder and group CEO of Bonkers.ie - he says it won't be the last supplier to announce increases:
"Energia is the second supplier to announced an increase this year coming on the heels of Bord Gáis Energy just last week. The increase for Energia customers over 12 months amounts to some €1,228 for customers with both gas and electricity from the provider, and unfortunately it's not going to be the last supplier to announce an increase this year, we expect."
