Donald Trump will be landing at Shannon Airport in County Clare on May 3rd.
The 76 year-old former US President will then travel on to his Trump International resort in Doonbeg.
It's less than a month since Trump pleaded NOT guilty to 34 felony counts of falsifying business records and conspiracy for his alleged role in hush money payments.
Independent Clare TD Michael McNamara thinks he is trying to follow US President Joe Biden's lead by travelling to Ireland:
"I suppose it doesn't come as a huge surprise given that it looks like he's going to be competing against Joe Biden in the next presidential campaign and Biden just had a relatively successful campaign in Ireland. He seems very warmly received here and I suppose Donald Trump wants to emulate that."
