Despite breaking temperature records this year, July wasn't as hot across the country as it was last year.
The second hottest temperature ever was recorded at the Phoenix Park in Dublin last month with the mercury reaching 33 degrees celcius.
However, meteorological data has shown weather stations across the country recorded average temperatures that were 1 degree cooler than in July of 2021.
Last month was the driest month on record for many stations with only 3 of the 25 around the country noting higher rainfall levels.
